Clifton Police officials are investigating an early morning shots fired incident.
Police said at approximately 2 A.M., a Clifton resident was walking home on Lexington Avenue when he came upon suspicious activity, possibly an altercation of some sort, near the intersection of Lake Avenue.
Police say when the participant(s) noticed him nearby, one of the individuals shot at him.
According to police, the victim was not struck and was able to run to safety.
Arriving police officers located spent shell casings at the crime scene, and the incident is under investigation by Clifton detectives.
