A woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a domestic incident reportedly turned violent in Newark's West Ward Wednesday morning.
Police were dispatched to an address in the 400 block of South 12th Street to investigate reports of a domestic violence incident before 1:30 a.m.
Units arrived and found a woman suffering a laceration on her neck after engaging in a physical encounter with her boyfriend, according to reports.
EMS treated the woman for the injury while police detained the suspect for the investigation.
A crime scene unit was dispatched to the location to assist in the investigation.
