Firefighters in Ocean County made fast work out of a structure blaze that ignited some brush at a theme park in Jackson Township Tuesday morning.
Preliminary reports indicated that at approximately 1:50 a.m., firefighters were called to Six Flags Great Adventures located at 1 Six Flags Boulevard to investigate reports of a fire.
When crews arrived, they found fire engulfing an open tent with flames extending to brush. The National Forest Fire Service was on standby while firefighters began battling the blaze.
Crews stretched several lines after they observed flames intensifying and fully engulfing a shed at the park.
Firefighters successfully knocked down the fire in under a half hour, with the cause under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
