Newark authorities request the public’s help identifying a pictured suspect in connection with a theft on May 23.
According to Newark Police, officers responded to the theft, which occurred at approximately 7:14 p.m. at a residence located in the 600 block of South 12th Street.
Police said the suspect, a Black male, was captured on surveillance video removing a wooden planter crate with flowers from the victim’s porch.
He was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a white shirt, light denim jean shorts, and white sneakers.
He also was carrying a blue backpack and two portable folding camping chairs.
