The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has been notified of a crash that claimed a person's life in Paterson Thursday evening.
Emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Ward and Main Streets after receiving calls of a car crash around 6:30 p.m.
Rescue crews arrived and found a vehicle crashed into a tree with an unconscious and unresponsive person inside the car.
The unidentified person was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center with EMS technicians administering CPR.
Doctors pronounced the victim dead at the hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and no other serious injuries were reported.
