Four Victims Shot in Less Than 24-Hours in Newark

Police are investigating a second double shooting that happened in Newark Wednesday night. 

According to the investigation, at approximately 8:25 p.m.,  officials at University Hospital notified police that two individuals entered the emergency room suffering gunshot wounds. 

Police learned that the victim was struck by gunfire after an armed suspect fired at them on Bergen Street before they arrived at the medical center. 

Their injuries were not reported as life-threatening at this time. 

The second is the second double shooting in less than 24 hours in Newark, with police investigating the motive behind both incidents. 

In Tuesday night's shooting, police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and nearly a dozen residents who dialed 911 reporting a shooting near 311 18th Avenue around 11:35 p.m. 

No arrests have been reported in either incident.
