An active investigation is underway into the motive behind a stabbing incident that hospitalized three individuals in Paterson Wednesday morning.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Main and Slater streets to investigate reports of an assault in progress.
Several Paterson officers arrived and found a severely injured person suffering multiple stab wounds. Police say a second person stabbed was located on Slater Steet.
While detectives investigated the crime scene, St. Joseph's Hospital officials notified police when a third individual entered the emergency room suffering stab wounds.
The motive for the stabbing is under an active and ongoing investigation.
Paterson Police have not announced an arrest.
