There is a homicide investigation underway into the fatal shooting of a man in a Newark North Ward community Thursday.
The late evening shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of Grafton and Clifton avenues.
Police requested EMS to rush to the scene after they arrived and found a severely injured male suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
After administering CPR to the victim, the unidentified male was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office were notified and will lead the investigation into the deadly encounter.
No other injuries were reported.
