State Police in NJ are investigating a crash that killed a man in Middlesex County Tuesday night.
Sgt. Philip Curry said the collision occurred in the southbound express lanes at mile marker 123.8 in Sayreville.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Jahmeir Mendez, 22, of Neptune, was crossing the southbound lanes from the left to the right when he was struck by a Subaru Outback traveling southbound in the center lane.
Sgt. Curry said a result of the crash, Mendez sustained fatal injuries.
Troopers closed the southbound express roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours resulting in minimal traffic congestion.
The crash remains under investigation.
