Police in East Orange took an armed juvenile into custody during a foot pursuit through one of the city's neighborhoods Monday.
It happened around 3:50 p.m. in the 40's block of North Munn.
The department's Criminal Intelligence Detective Bureau began investigating reports of an armed person in the area.
When officers approached the unidentified male to continue investigating, the suspect fled the scene and led officers to the 40's block of Oak Street, where he was arrested without further incident.
Police recovered a firearm during the pursuit they believed belonged to the juvenile suspect.
An EMs unit was called to the scene to aid the suspect, who reported breathing problems.
