Keeping your marriage 'spicey' can be challenging when you run a business and have little energy.
We are all limited in our capacity, so being intentional and planning makes a huge difference when investing in your marriage. One of the ways we are intentional in our marriage is by using an M.E.P. (Marriage Enrichment Plan).
When creating our M.E.P., we consider our energy and capacity based on the business activity and growth we expect. This way, we are less likely to set ourselves up with unrealistic goals that we would love to do but don't have the bandwidth for.
Also, another area that helps us stick to our plan is to include our team in helping to protect that sacred time. For example, if we plan to go apple picking in the Fall, we pick out a date and reserve it on our calendar so we will be able to catch up.
In addition, because we know we would want to be energized and present for our date, the day before we go, Apple Picking, we would have a target to wrap up the day earlier and even inform our team well in advance so they can support and protect our decision.
Sometimes the best dates are right at home doing an activity that gets your mind off work and focused on each other; here are a few ideas for that:
- Google the term' Date Night Questions,' and you'll be amazed at the resources. We used this ALOT during 2020.
- Check out The Ultimate Intimacy App. The #1 Marriage and Intimacy App that is Clean, Non-Graphic, and So Much Fun!
- Pinterest has many *free* date night cards: You'll find various games and great convo starters with these.
- Date Night Book Ideas: There are books you can read together and books that offer quick ideas for a memorable date night. Try them both!
Use these to enrich your marriage for years to come. If you need help creating an M.E.P. that you both will be accountable to as you build your business, schedule a success-mapping call today!
Here's to living purposefully, powerfully, and profitably in sync,
