A car that was wanted in connection with a shooting that injured a person in Irvington Township Tuesday was found in Newark's South Ward Thursday night.
Police began searching for suspects responsible for the shooting that caused heavy traffic congestion in the area of Grove Street and Springfield Avenue just before rush hour.
According to the investigation, at approximately 4:40 p.m., shooters exited a vehicle near 982 Grove Street and began firing at a male victim.
Township officials said a bullet struck the victim in the leg, causing non-fatal injuries.
Essex County Bn Sheriiff’s Officers found the felony vehicle in the 900 block of Lawton Street shortly before 8 p.m.
The suspects remain at large.
