Authorities in Monroe Township announced that on Sunday, April 16, at approximately 3:33 P.M., officers were dispatched to a residence on Chestnut Street for the report of a male who had been shot.
According to police, upon arrival, they discovered a victim who had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head.
Police say a suspect, 18-year-old Nasir D. Robinson-Sanders, of Williamstown, was present at the scene and taken into custody by the Monroe Township Police Department.
Immediate medical attention was rendered to the 17-year-old victim, a Williamstown resident, who was first transported to Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township and then to Jefferson facilities in Philadelphia.
According to officials, the victim was subsequently pronounced deceased. An autopsy of the victim conducted on April 17 by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the cause of death as a gunshot wound and the manner of death as a homicide.
Nasir D. Robinson-Sanders is charged with the following offenses:
Manslaughter: 2C:11-4B(1)
Unlawful Possession of Weapon: 2C:39-5B(1)
Robinson-Sanders was processed and lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility pending further proceedings.
