NJ State Police officials are investigating the cause of a highway crash that sent a woman to the hospital in Morris County Saturday morning.
According to NJ State Police, Troopers responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near milepost 31.6 in Roxbury just before 3 a.m.
NJ State Police official said that based on a preliminary investigation, Troopers found that a Mazda passenger car and an International box truck were traveling west on I-80.
In the area of milepost 31.6, Troopers said the Mazda slowed down in the right lane and was struck in the rear by the International.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Mazda, the 29-year-old woman from Roebling, NJ, sustained severe injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
