One person suffered non-fatal injuries in a Newark shooting Thursday night.
A ShotSpotter device activated after several rounds of gunfire rang out in the area of 860 South 11th Street shortly before 8:45 p.m.
Officers arrived and found multiple shell casings and a further search of the area indicated a person suffering a bullet wound in their foot.
The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
