Officials at two Morris County colleges had their staff and students shelter in place after police searched the area for a suspicious person believed to be armed Tuesday morning.
FDU Madison said multiple Morris County schools in the immediate area locked down after a security alert at St. Elizabeth University's campus which was reported to you a short while ago.
“There is a police investigation in the surrounding area and so out of an abundance of caution, we will continue to shelter in place until we receive further notice and guidance from local law enforcement authorities,” FDU officials said.
FDU Florham Campus told students to shelter in place in effect until further notice. “If you are off campus, stay off campus.”
“Local police are on the scene at St. Elizabeth and investigating. Seek shelter inside immediately, close all windows and lock doors until further notice”.
