Listen, we GET it.
Being a marriedpreneur couple comes with an ongoing list of things to do, people to call, and emails to send (not to mention the often-forgotten date night).
It's a lot.
With so much light on the glorified no-days-off mentality, we must share the truth behind such a toxic building. It sounds noble and correct but is only sustainable with proper rest.
This time of year, when entering a new quarter, is the perfect time to realign with your recharge plan. It's a non-negotiable.
Although this new quarter is also an ideal time to audit other critical areas(which we'll discuss in the upcoming articles), all the different areas will only matter if you first have rest as a built-in part of your lifestyle.
REST, not to be confused with sleep, doesn't only 'feel' good, but it has tons of necessary health benefits like:
- Sharper thinking
- More energy
- Better outlook on life
- Reduced stress and anxiety.
- Improved mood.
- Decreased blood pressure.
- Chronic pain relief.
- Improved immune health.
- Stronger cardiovascular system.
Everything mentioned on this list impacts not only the type of marriage and business you may have the capacity for, but also the quality of life is deeply affected by incorporating rest into your business plan.
Mental rest is one of the most overlooked kinds of rest. Without ample mental rest, every other aspect of the physical body is off. You'll know when you're not getting the mental rest needed because although you may sleep for 7-8 hours a night, you're brain is constantly firing, so you wake up tired. This is a simple way to know.
To repair and reroute focus, you must be intentional with new boundaries and self-awareness. Be clear on what you need to preoccupy your mind and distract it from working so it can rest. That looks different for everyone, but it is necessary on this growth path. Both your marriage and business will thank you!
Consider adding regular conversations around resting in your legacy meetings. Accountability and consistency are key. We've created a free Marriedpreneur Checklist to help you start your legacy meetings. You can grab it here.
Here's to living purposefully, powerfully, and profitably in sync,
