NJ State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash on an interstate in Union County this afternoon.
NJ State Police Spokesman Lt. Peele said the crash occurred in the eastbound lanes at 12:28 p.m. on Interstate 78 eastbound in Springfield Twp, Union County.
According to Lt. Peele, preliminary information indicated that in the area of Exit 49B, a crash occurred involving a dump truck, a tractor-trailer and a Dodge Ram pickup truck.
Lt. Peele said there is one confirmed severe injury.
I-78 is closed in both directions. The crash remains under investigation.
