Bergen County authorities announced the arrest of Jose A. Restrepo-Velez, 49, Roselle Park, for distribution of controlled dangerous substances.
According to officials, the arrest results from an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities say on March 22, during a narcotics investigation, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force conducted a traffic stop of Jose Restrepo-Velez’s vehicle in Hackensack.
During the traffic stop, a search was conducted on the vehicle, and detectives located two kilograms of fentanyl and approximately one hundred grams of cocaine.
According to the investigation, earlier in the month, Jose Restrepo- Velez distributed fifty grams of cocaine and one hundred grams of fentanyl to an undercover detective.
As a result of the investigation, Jose Restrepo-Velez was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree distribution of cocaine, second-degree distribution of cocaine, and second-degree distribution of fentanyl.
Restrepo-Velez was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
