Have you ever had an idea to incorporate into your business that seemed like a great idea?
Maybe you and your spouse were excited about the possibilities of what could be. Perhaps you planned it all out and set things to launch it until- an even better idea surfaced.
The cycle repeated itself.
The ping-pong back and forth can be draining and eventually discouraging when you realize there has yet to be real progress with any of those ideas. You may have even started feeling stuck between the different options.
This is known as analysis paralysis. It happens when you analyze an idea for so long that it paralyzes you from taking action.
There are MANY tasks that we can focus on each day, but not all tasks are created equal. Because we all have limited time, energy, and capacity, we have to prioritize the tasks that move the needle forward.
Below are the steps we take when we find ourselves in an 'idea trap':
- Make a Decision: Decide means to cut away. To say Yes, to one thing, you're saying No to the other items at that time.
- Use the LHF Rule: Knowing what to do next often comes down to asking yourself what the Lowest Hanging Fruit is. What is the easiest way to take the next step in the right direction?
- Be Accountable: If you're even a little familiar with our process, you know that our daily legacy meetings are a part of our annual legacy meeting that keeps us accountable in the day-to-day.
That's it. Keep the steps super simple.
