Union County authorities announced today that a Union Township restaurant owner has been convicted of sexual offenses against a minor.
According to officials, following a jury trial before Union County Superior Court, Adam Yeung, 46, was convicted Tuesday on charges of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
Union Township Police say the case was initiated after reports were made to the Department, and Detective Gregory Mulholland led a subsequent investigation.
According to Union County Assistant Prosecutors, who prosecuted the case, the investigation revealed Yeung victimized the juvenile in 2021 while under his employment.
“We are grateful for the thorough investigation from the Union Police Department that aided our Office in bringing this suspect to justice,” Prosecutor Daniel said upon hearing the verdict.
“We hope this conviction can bring some small measure of comfort to the victim and her family.”
Sentencing is tentatively scheduled for May 12, at which time Yeung can face a sentence of up to five years in State Prison on his third-degree conviction.
