Atlantic County authorities announced that on March 13, a jury found Kevin Davis, 37, of Atlantic City, guilty of fifteen crimes, including first-degree maintaining a fentanyl production facility, second-degree unlawful handgun possession in the furtherance of fentanyl production and distribution, and resisting arrest by flight.
According to officials, Davis was also found guilty of first-degree unlawful handgun possession by an offender previously convicted of violating the No Early Release Act for violent offenders.
Davis will be sentenced on April 18.
According to Atlantic City Police, on October 3, 2019, officers executed a search warrant on a residence used by Davis to package fentanyl for sale.
Police say in Davis’ bedroom, they recovered a substantial quantity of fentanyl, paraphernalia used to package and label fentanyl for sale, and a handgun loaded with a high-capacity ammunition magazine that contained various rounds of ammunition, including hollow point ammunition.
Police attempted to take Davis into custody after he exited the front door of the home, but he fled from police officers on a bicycle for several blocks in Atlantic City until he was taken into custody.
According to authorities, over 100 folds of fentanyl packaged for sale were recovered when Davis was taken into custody near the Boys and Girls Club and the Pennsylvania Avenue School, which led to additional charges for possessing fentanyl with intent to distribute near a school and public park for which he was found guilty.
Davis faces up to life imprisonment, and he is currently held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending sentencing.
