On Monday, Essex County authorities investigated a shots-fired incident on the border of Newark and Irvington Township.
Newark Police were on the scene of the shooting near the intersection of 16th Avenue and South 20th Street around 5:30 p.m. 
Officers canvased the border of both towns and reportedly found at least one shell casing near the Irvington side of the street.
Authorities are trying to determine who the gunman fired the weapon at and for what purpose.
No injuries were reported.
