Police reported no injuries in an early morning shots-fired incident in Newark's South Ward Tuesday.
A ShotSpotter device activated and alerted police of a shooting in the area of 247 Peshine Avenue around 12:50 a.m.
Several units arrived in the area and found shell casings during their search of the neighborhood.
While canvassing the crime scene, no victims were located. Newark's Shooting Response Team was dispatched to the scene to assist in the investigation.
The shooter fled the scene and is at large.
