NJ Transit officials are investigating a pedestrian strike that killed a man in Monmouth County Saturday evening.
According to NJ Transit, at approximately 5:45 p.m., North Jersey Coast Line train #4756, which departed Bay Head at 5:19 p.m., was scheduled to arrive in Long Branch at 5:58 p.m.
Officials said the train struck and fatally injured an adult male pedestrian in the vicinity of Corlies Avenue near the Bradley Beach station.
Transit officials said no injuries were reported to the five customers or crew on board.
NJ Transit canceled one train due to this incident and the active investigation.
New Jersey Transit Police is leading the investigation.
