Essex County officials reported that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting of Mr. Calvin C. Scott, 19, of Newark.
According to authorities, on March 6, at 3:40 p.m., Newark police responded to a report of a shooting at a building on the 300 block of South 6th Street, Newark.
Officials said police located Scott inside, apparently suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 8:03 p.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
No arrests have been made.
