Police officials in Irvington Township are looking into possible speeding as the cause of a crash that injured a motorcyclist Sunday night.
Township officials said Irvington Police were notified of a motorcycle crash on Lyons Avenue near Lincoln Place around 9:15 p.m.
Emergency responders arrived and found a damaged motorcycle with the rider underneath a vehicle at that location.
Firefighters and rescue crews reportedly extricated the victim and transported him to University Hospital for treatment.
Officials said a preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle initially struck an open door of a parked vehicle before losing directional control and crashing into a car in motion.
Police say the motorcyclist's injuries were not initially considered life-threatening, but Irvington Police was advised to continue their investigation and make notifications if the condition of the victim declines.
No other injuries were reported.
