Police in Hawthorne are on the scene of a shots-fired incident, with injuries reported at this time.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 20’s block of Brownstone Terrace around 6:17 a.m.
Upon arrival, police were told that an armed suspect occupying a grey car approached a house in the community and began firing.
The assailant reported sped away from the scene and remained at large.
Initial reports indicated one person suffered injuries, but police have not confirmed if bullets struck the individual as of 7 a.m.
There is a crime scene established and an investigation underway. The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified of the shooting.
