Police reported no injuries in a shot-fired incident near an Elementary School in Newark's North Ward Wednesday night.
A ShotSpotter device activated and registered over a dozen rounds of gunfire in the vicinity of 102 Grafton Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m.
Several officers arrived in the area and found about 15 shell casings on the Grafton Avenue side of Elliot Street School.
Witnesses reported seeing two individuals exchange repeated gunfire in the community before fleeing the scene.
A check of hospitals in the region for potential gunshot victims was negative, according to police.
The investigation remains active, and both suspects are at large.
