Police in Newark's Vailsburg section are looking for a suspect wanted for firing a gun in the West Ward Friday night.
At approximately 10:35 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near 1003 South Orange Avenue near Smith Street.
Units arrived and found shell casings after a gunman fired multiple rounds in the area and fled the scene.
Police said a ShotSpotter device activated and alerted police of gunfire that erupted in the area.
The suspect remained at large.
