Police in Newark are looking for a suspect who fired multiple rounds of gunfire in a section of the city Tuesday night.
A ShotSpotter device detected repeated gunfire in the vicinity of 849 South 18th Street around 8:30 p.m., prompting police to scramble to the scene.
Units arrived and secured the area after locating about 18 shell casings in the community.
Police found a home and an unoccupied vehicle struck by bullets, but after cops canvassed the area, no victims were reported.
Newark Police Shooting Response team was called to the neighborhood to assist in the investigation.
No injuries were reported.
