Union Township Police officials are investigating a pedestrian strike that injured a senior woman Monday.

Officials said Union Police responded to a severe crash in the parking lot of 255 Tucker Avenue, at 01:35 PM.

Police said a United States Postal Office vehicle operated by 37-year-old Yusef Yusufav of Newark was reversing through the parking lot when his car collided with a pedestrian, Eva Naidanovich, 93,  of Union.

Ms. Naidanovich was transported to University Hospital for treatment, where she was listed in critical condition.

Officer Marco Penetra of the Union Police Department is conducting the investigation.

This investigation is ongoing, pending further information and witness statements.

Police said any witnesses to this crash are asked to contact the Union Police Department Traffic Bureau at (908) 851-5070.

NOTE: An earlier story of this incident had Union Police erroneously reporting that the senior woman had died. Union Police officials have since updated news outlets to reflect that Ms. Naidanovich is in critical condition.
