Paterson Police officials reported property damage in a shots-fired incident at a business in the city Thursday.
At approximately 4:35 p.m., police scrambled to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of 160 Vreeland Avenue.
When officers arrived, they taped the area off after cops found multiple shell casings and the windows of a barbershop struck by bullets.
Police say no one inside the business suffered injuries, and officials placed hospitals in the region on alert for potential walk-in gunshot victims.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
Police have not determined if anyone inside the barbershop was the target of the shooting at this time.
