Police in Newark is investigating a shooting incident that injured a male victim late Monday night in the West Ward.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., officials at University Hospital notified police when a male gunshot victim entered the emergency department suffering a bullet wound.
The victim was struck in his leg, and his injury was not rpeorted as life-threatening.
Police checked the area of South Orange Avenue and South 12th Street for a crime scene.
Newark authorities also checked the vicinity of Fabyan and Clinton Avenue area after gunfire rang out in that part of the city.
One person was struck by gunfire at the Fabyan crime scene.
The circumstances behind the shootings are under investigation.
