Two suspects were taken into custody after a shooting incident in Newark's South Ward Sunday night.
Essex County Sheriff's officers responded to the scene of shots fired in the 900 block of South 16th Street around 10:05 p.m.
Officers arrived and found two suspects reportedly fleeing from the scene and began a brief pursuit where units drew their weapons.
Several 911 calls reported two victims shot at the location, but no injuries were reported after several officers canvassed the scene.
The suspects were arrested without further incident
Police have not confirmed a motive for the shooting or who the suspects were targeting at this time.
