Authorities in Monmouth County are investigating a shooting incident that caused fatal injuries to a person in Oceanport Friday night.
At approximately 9:35 p.m., police responded to reports of an injured person at an address in the 20's block of Gosseli Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found an unidentified person suffering a bullet wound to their chest at that location.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency responders attempted CPR.
The investigation is active, ongoing and no arrests have been reported .
