Police in Newark Found a gunshot victim inside a taxi in the city's Upper West Ward Friday night.
Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Longfellow and South Orange avenues around 11:05 p.m.
Officer canvassed the area and found a taxi cab with a gunshot victim inside a couple of blocks away on South Orange Avenue.
The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment while police launched an investigation at the scene.
Police believe that the victim was struck by a stray bullet but have not ruled out an armed robbery gone wrong at this time.
No arrests have been reported.
