A crime scene unit assisted at the scene of an aggravated assault incident in Jersey City Wednesday night.
Police found a female victim suffering a head injury near 128 Belmont Avenue after an unidentified person approached and swung a pipe at her head.
The victim was taken to Jersey City Medical center for treatment ad is in serious but stable condition.
Police checked surveillance cameras in the community ad located evidence near 145 Belmont Avenue.
Authorities have not released a motive for the attack at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
