Authorities are investigating a stabbing incident that left a woman injured in Newark's South Ward Friday morning.
Officers responded to reports of an injured person in the vicinity of 603 Elizabeth Avenue around 10:30 a.m.
Police and EMS arrived and found a female suffering a non-life threatening stab wound to her leg.
EMS transported the conscious and alert victim to the hospital, where she is expected to recover.
The motive for the attack is under investigation.
