Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old male in Camden City last night, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
According to Camden County officials, on Saturday, December 3, at approximately 9:32 p.m., Camden County Police Department received a 911 call advising that gunshots were fired around the 1800 block of Mt. Ephraim Avenue.
Police located an unconscious and unresponsive shooting victim.
EMS arrived on the scene and transported the victim to Cooper University Medical Center.
According to a preliminary investigation, the shooting victim had attended a birthday party event at the Elks Lodge on Mt. Ephraim Avenue. Detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and Camden County Police Department were notified and responded to the scene.
Police identified the victim as a 14-year-old male from Lindenwold who was pronounced deceased at 10:04 p.m. at Cooper University Medical Center.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
