Union County officials are continuing to investigate a carjacking of an out-of-town law enforcement official that occurred in Elizabeth in late November.
As reported earlier, on November 21, the unidentified DC Metro Cop reported to Elizabeth Police that while in an undisclosed section of the city, a male suspect approached at took the vehicle during an apparent struggle.
The officer's badge and other personal items were in the vehicle, but no weapon was inside the car.
The blue Hyundai Santa Fe SUV with reported NJ license plate numbers "GKO-837" was later recovered by police.
The cop was treated at University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
