Passaic County officials announced that Julio Largo-Veletanga, age 66, of Paterson, was found guilty after a jury trial of one count of first degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; three counts of second degree Sexual Assault; one count of Attempted Aggravated Sexual Assault, in; four counts of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and one count of second degree Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution.
According to Paterson Police, in May 2020, members of the officers responded to a residence in the City of Paterson on a report of sexual assault against a ten-year-old child.
Officials say, Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses, including the child victim.
The child reported being sexually abused by Mr. Largo-Veletanga on multiple occasions between February 2020 and May 2020 at her home in Paterson.
According to Passaic County officials, on November 15, a Passaic County petit jury convicted Mr. Largo-Veletanga on all counts.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 8, 2023, at 9:00 AM.
Mr. Largo-Veletanga will be subject to the Special Sentence of Parole Supervision for Life and Megan’s Law registration requirements.
Mr. Largo-Veletanga is presently detained at the Passaic County Jail.
