Police reported severe injuries for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Newark's lower West Ward Monday morning.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Bergen Street and 12th Avenue to assist a pedestrian struck by a car around 12:45 a.m.
Units arrived and found the seriously injured victim lying on the ground.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital for treatment while police stayed at the scene investigating the cause of the collision.
No other injuries were reported.
