Authorities in Newark are investigating a motive behind a shooting that injured a person in the city Thursday night.
It happened around 9:40 p.m in the 40's block of Duryea Street.
Headquarters received a ShotSpotter device activation in the area prompting a police response to the scene.
Upon arrival, police located an unidentified person suffering a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and the extent of their injury could not bee confirmed.
Police announced no arrests for the shooting.
