Police in Newark are looking for a suspect who shot a man multiple times on Frelinghuysen Avenue this afternoon.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation that alerted headquarters of a shooting in the area of Frelinghuysen Avenue and Thorne Street just before 3 p.m.
Several units arrived and found the male victim suffering gunshot wounds in his arm and leg.
He was transported to University Hospital in stable condition while police searched for a tall, light-skinned black male who was last observed running from the scene wearing dark clothing.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
No arrests have been reported.
