Police in Newark checked a housing complex in the city's West Ward for evidence to support a shooting with a person injured Saturday night.
Officials at University Hospital notified Newark Police when a male gunshot victim entered the emergency department suffering a non-fatal injury around 10 p.m.
Police investigating the case were pointed in the direction of the Reservoir Housing Complex, where they began searching for shell casings and other evidence.
Authorities reported a ShotSpotter activation in the vicinity of South 8th Street and South Orange Avenue before the victim arrived at University Hospital.
No arrests have been reported.
