Police in Newark located evidence of a shooting that originated from a housing complex that extended to a nearby shopping center Friday morning.
Residents on the Jones Street side of New Community dialed 911 after gunfire rang out in the area around 2 a.m.
When police arrived at the scene, they found shell casings in the 70's block of Hayes Street but no victims were located after a search of the neighborhood.
