NJ State Police are investigating the cause of a wreck that injured several people on a highway in Union Sunday morning.
According to Sergeant Alejandro Goez, the crash was reported at 1132pm west in the local lanes at MP 53.1 in Union Twp.
Sarge Goez said a preliminary investigation, a Mercedes Benz GLC struck the rear of a Nissan Rogue on I-78.
As a result of the crash, Sergeant Goez said a 3-month-old in the Nissan sustained severe injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
The driver of the Nissan, a 45-year-old male of Snellville, GA and another passenger, a 25-year-old female of East Elmhurst, NY, sustained minor injuries.
According to Sergeant Goez, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a 37-year-old male of Irvington, sustained moderate injuries and the passenger, a 32-year-old male of Jersey City, sustained minor injuries.
Sergeant Goez said the accident remains under investigation.
