Police are reporting non-fatal injuries for a child stuck by a car in Newark Thursday evening.
Officers and EMS responded to reports of an injured child on 18th Avenue and Hunterdon Street around 5:45 p.m.
Police arrived and found the child lying in the street after being struck by a car that sped from the scene.
The impact of the incident reportedly tossed the young boy in the air, causing injuries. He was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police reported no immediate arrests at this time.
