Police located shell casings at the scene of a shots-fired incident in Newark's Vailsburg section Monday night.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 11 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of 84-86 Lindsley Avenue.
Police arrived and found multiple shell casings near 139 Vermont Avenue, but a search of the West Ward neighborhood indicated no victims.
Authorities have not reported an arrest of the shooter at this time.
